All vitamins, minerals, and plant extracts used come from recognized, often patented sources and are tested for their bioavailability, purity, and safety.

Foondiert® develops all its formulas independently – from the selection of raw materials to the final production.
This way, we maintain complete control over the quality and purity of the ingredients, as well as the entire production process. This is in contrast to products on the market that are mass-produced by manufacturers and then offered for sale to other companies, who merely add a label, a product name, and a price before reselling them to their own customers. We are responsible for every aspect of our products, from the selection of raw materials, the formulation of ingredients, and product certification, to decisions regarding dosage forms and manufacturing processes.
Clinical evidence
There can be many different forms for the individual ingredients in a food supplement. The decision as to which of these we choose is based on the scientific evidence. We consider the type, quantity, and quality of clinical studies conducted on the effects of the ingredient and carefully review the publication of these results in the most renowned, peer-reviewed sources.
Folate describes the many different forms of vitamin B9. We have chosen L-5-MTHF because it is the biologically active form of folate and occurs naturally in the body. This means that it is immediately bioavailable without first being metabolised, and there are therefore no conversion losses. The widespread approach of increasing folate levels with synthetic folic acid can also be ineffective for people (approx. 50% of the population) who have a disease or a genetic mutation that hinders the conversion of dietary folate and folic acid into its usable biologically active form, L-5-MTHF.
Health Claims
Foondiert® exclusively makes health claims that have been scientifically reviewed and approved by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Health claims describe the health benefits of a food supplement or its ingredients. Their use is regulated throughout the EU. The EFSA authoritatively verifies whether the claims submitted for approval are scientifically sufficiently substantiated. The regulations ensure that such statements may only be used based on clinical research and reliable evidence.
Example: The Foondiert® Direct Spray "Vegan Vitamin D3"
The EFSA-approved health claims for vitamin D are that it:
- has a role in the process of cell division
- contributes to the normal function of the immune system
- contributes to normal blood calcium levels
- contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function
- contributes to the maintenance of normal bones
- contributes to the maintenance of normal teeth
Bioavailability
We use nutrients in their biologically active form, which the body can absorb and utilize directly without conversion losses.
A nutrient is only as good as the proportion that the body can actually absorb and utilize.
This ability is called bioavailability – it includes not only absorption but also distribution, metabolism, and excretion of the nutrient. Therefore, the health benefit of a nutrient is limited by its bioavailability in the body.
Foondiert® exclusively uses ingredients with proven high bioavailability to ensure that every dose truly reaches where it is needed.
Example: CAVACURMIN® – the high-quality curcumin complex
Curcumin is the primary bioactive substance and a major curcuminoid in turmeric (Curcuma longa).
In the past, it was difficult to supply the body with useful amounts of curcumin because it is not water-soluble and has poor bioavailability. Patented CAVACURMIN® offers a natural solution for this. To optimize bioavailability, unlike conventional curcumin formulations, each curcumin molecule is encapsulated in a cyclodextrin shell (a naturally occurring starch compound with a water-repellent cavity) and transported to the digestive tract, where it is absorbed by the epithelial cell membrane. The result is that 40 times more curcuminoids are absorbed from the gut into the blood compared to pure turmeric extract (this is a 4000% increase). This means that a higher effect can be achieved with a smaller dose. This method means that just two capsules of our Curcumin Support Complex deliver the same amount of curcuminoids as 5280 mg of turmeric extract (with 95% curcumin).
There are several other approaches to improve the bioavailability of curcumin. A commonly used method is the combination of curcumin with piperine (e.g., black pepper extract), which can irritate the stomach lining and also affect the absorption of certain medications. Other methods are based on the use of polysorbates, micelles, and other chemical surfactants or emulsifiers from allergenic sources, which can lead to undesirable side effects.
Patented ingredients
Many of our ingredients are patented. Especially for plant extracts and botanicals, this offers significant
advantages:
- They are registered in the trademark register with a defined, standardized dosage.
- A standardized dose enables clinically proven efficacy.
- Each batch is produced using an identical process.
- Researchers choose such ingredients because they make studies easier to reproduce.
While Foondiert® uses both tested ingredients and the underlying research, many providers use studies on patented substances and cite them, but use other non-patented ingredients.

Affron® is a premium saffron ingredient standardised to 3.5% Lepticrosalides. These are the bioactive compounds responsible for Affron®'s beneficial properties. Thanks to the patented production process, we know that we always get the same amount and high quality of Lepticrosalides per dose.
