Studien zur Bioverfügbarkeit von CAVACURMIN®

Eine 2021 im „Journal of Functional Foods“ veröffentlichte Studie zeigt, dass die Einnahme des Curcumin-Cyclodextrin-Komplexes CAVACURMIN® mit einer erhöhten metabolischen Bioverfügbarkeit von Tetrahydrocurcumin einhergeht. Ein großer Teil des supplementierten Curcumins wird im Körper zu Tetrahydrocurcumin umgewandelt.

Weil Curcumin nicht wasserlöslich ist, wird es nur schlecht in den menschlichen Blutkreislauf aufgenommen. Mithilfe von Gamma- Cyclodextrin lasst sich seine Bioverfügbarkeit signifikant erhöhen. Bereits eine im Jahr 2018 im „European Journal of Nutrition“ veröffentlichte Studie belegt, dass die Curcuminoide aus dem Cyclodextrin-Komplex CAVACURMIN® im Körper rund 40-mal effizienter absorbiert werden als aus einem Standard-Curcuminextrakt (Purpura et al. 2018)1.

Im Rahmen einer randomisierten Doppelblindstudie wurde nun nachgewiesen, dass auch die metabolische Bioverfügbarkeit von Tetrahydrocurcumin nach der Einnahme von CAVACURMIN® etwa 40-fach hoher ist als nach der Einnahme eines Standard- Curcuminextrakts (Hundshammer et al. 2021)2.

Bei Tetrahydrocurcumin handelt es sich um ein Stoffwechselprodukt von Curcumin, dem ergänzende gesundheitsfordernde Eigenschaften zugeschrieben werden. Die metabolische Bioverfügbarkeit setzt die
In-vivo-Produktion von Tetrahydrocurcumin ins Verhältnis zur aufgenommenen Curcumin-Menge. Ein weiteres Ergebnis der nun vorliegenden Langzeitstudie: Bereits nach vier Wochen fuhrt die tägliche orale Einnahme von CAVACURMIN® (jeweils ca. 340 Milligramm Curcumin) zu einer konstant hohen Konzentration von Curcumin und Tetrahydrocurcumin im Blut. Auch nach zwölf Wochen ist dieser Effekt messbar. Die Langzeitstudie bestätigte zudem eine sehr gute Verträglichkeit von CAVACURMINR.

Curcumin can only be effective in the body if it is actually absorbed. Many conventional products contain high amounts, but only a small portion reaches the bloodstream. High bioavailability ensures that the active ingredient gets to where it is needed.

Yes, the CAVACURMIN® it contains is based on curcumin from the turmeric plant (Curcuma longa) and uses cyclodextrins, which are also derived from natural plant starch. The technology improves absorption without using synthetic additives.

The capsules have a significantly higher dosage. The direct spray is a practical alternative to tablets and capsules and can also be absorbed through the oral mucosa.

Piperine is used in many curcumin products to increase the absorption of curcumin. However, it can irritate the stomach lining and also affect the absorption of other substances and medications, which can lead to unwanted interactions.
CAVACURMIN® does not require piperine, as its bioavailability is already specifically and efficiently improved through cyclodextrin technology. This allows for better tolerability and controlled absorption.
