Affron saffron extract is a standardized extract from Crocus sativus, specifically standardized to defined levels of bioactive ingredients such as lepticrotalides.
This raw material is one of the most comprehensively researched saffron extracts worldwide and has been investigated in numerous peer-reviewed studies. In the USA, saffron serves as the basis for an official monograph (e.g., in the context of the United States Pharmacopeia), meaning that quality standards and specifications are clearly defined. Internationally, saffron is traditionally and in some markets also considered in relation to emotional well-being. Within the EU, however, no specific health-related claims are permitted for this, which is why we focus on the quality and standardization of the raw material.
